Major Championship - Masters Tournament
Rory McIlroy has finally achieved his long-sought career Grand Slam, winning the 89th Masters Tournament in a thrilling playoff at Augusta National. The Northern Irishman’s victory followed a rollercoaster final round that saw him battle nerves, blunders, and a surging Justin Rose.
McIlroy, 35, started the day with a two-stroke lead, but a double bogey on the first hole quickly erased that advantage. He rallied with birdies, building a four-stroke lead on the back nine, only to see it evaporate with a double bogey at the 13th and a bogey at the 14th. Rose, meanwhile, delivered a stunning 66, including birdies through Amen Corner, forcing a playoff.
On the 18th hole, McIlroy’s wedge shot to four feet secured the victory after Rose missed his birdie attempt. Overwhelmed with emotion, McIlroy, who has endured years of scrutiny in his quest for a Green Jacket, dropped to his knees in tears, finally achieving a feat only five other golfing legends have accomplished: winning all four modern major championships.
“Just a complete rollercoaster of emotions today,” said McIlroy, reflecting on the decade-long pursuit. “What came out of me on the last green there in the playoff was at least 11 years, if not 14 years, of pent-up emotion.”
The victory marked McIlroy’s first major championship since 2014, solidifying his place amongst golf’s elite. Despite the dramatic twists and turns of the final round, McIlroy’s resilience and determination ultimately prevailed, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

Japan Golf Tour - Token Homemate Cup
Tatsunori Shogenji has claimed his first Japan Golf Tour Organisation (JGTO) victory at the weather-affected Token Homemate Cup. His impressive 14-under-par total of 199, achieved over three rounds, proved decisive after heavy rainfall forced the cancellation of the final round at Token Tado Country Club.
The 26-year-old had established a three-shot lead with a five-under-par 66 in the third round, but unplayable course conditions prevented any further play. Despite the shortened tournament, Shogenji, who finished runner-up at the same event last year, expressed his delight at securing the win. His consistent performance, with only two dropped shots over 54 holes, validated his hard work and resilience.
“I’m just really happy to have finally won. Even though I didn’t play today, everyone congratulated me and I feel like I’ve truly arrived,” said Shogenji. He also highlighted the significance of the victory in boosting his confidence, particularly after a series of near-misses in previous tournaments.

Gira de Golf Professional Mexicana - El Campanario Classic
José de Jesús "Camarón" Rodríguez has emerged victorious at the El Campanario Classic, the penultimate stage of the 2024-25 Mexican Professional Tour (GPM). The event marked the tour's return to El Campanario Residencial & Golf in Querétaro after a two-year absence.

Despite a less than stellar final round, Rodríguez managed to maintain his lead, carding a 70. This victory ends a year and three-month title drought for Rodríguez on the GPM tour.
"Today, I didn't hit the ball very well, but we managed to capitalise on the opportunities we had," Rodríguez commented. "There were a few errors, shots I shouldn't have taken, but I remained patient, and in the end, we secured the title."

Professional Golf Tour of India - Indorama Ventures Golf Championship
Sachin Baisoya produced a remarkable comeback victory at the Indorama Ventures Open Golf Championship 2025, overcoming a seven-shot deficit to defeat Udayan Mane in a playoff. The Delhi golfer, who initially considered withdrawing due to his father's illness, carded a final round of four-under 68 at Kalhaar Blues & Greens Golf Club, tying Mane at 11-under 277.
Mane, the overnight leader, faltered in the closing stages, dropping five shots in his final six holes to allow Baisoya to force a playoff. Baisoya maintained his composure on the playoff hole, securing par while Mane conceded a bogey.
The victory, worth INR 30 lakh, propelled Baisoya to second place in the PGTI Order of Merit. Khalin Joshi finished third, with Abhinav Lohan in fourth. Local favourite Varun Parikh and Ajeetesh Sandhu shared fifth place. Baisoya credited his father's encouragement and swing adjustments from his uncle and mentor for his improved performance. He also highlighted his mental fortitude, particularly during the playoff, where he focused on securing par. Mane, despite a strong start, was left to rue a dramatic collapse in the closing holes.

ProGolf Tour - Little Venice Red Sea Open
Nathan Cossement has clinched his first professional victory at the Little Venice Red Sea Open 2025, held at Sokhna Golf Club. The 23-year-old Belgian, competing in just his third Pro Golf Tour event, posted rounds of 68, 67, and 70 to finish 11-under par, securing not only the win but also a coveted tour card.
Despite admitting to not having his "A-game" during the final round, Cossement showed remarkable composure, particularly on the back nine, where crucial birdies and a vital par save on the 14th hole proved decisive. Germany's Brandon Dietzel and France's Mathias Gunzel shared second place, finishing one stroke behind Cossement at 10-under par.
Cossement, who turned professional in August, expressed his delight, stating, "This means a lot to me. It's more than just a win." His victory follows a strong third-place finish at the Red Sea Ain Sokhna Open, demonstrating his affinity for the Sokhna Golf Club course.
The young golfer's focus now shifts to the Ain Bay Red Sea Open, also at Sokhna Golf Club, as he aims to solidify his position on the Pro Golf Tour. Meanwhile, Filip Mruzek of the Czech Republic leads the 2025 Order of Merit.
