Peter Dawson, the Official World Golf Ranking Chairman and former Chief Executive of The R&A, has been made a CBE in the New Year Honours List.
Mr Dawson became Chairman of the Official World Golf Ranking in July 2016, the month before golf's return Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He played a key role in golf becoming an Olympic sport again as Joint Secretary, and then President of, the International Golf Federation (IGF).
Ian Barker, who heads the Official World Golf Ranking operation, said "Peter takes a detailed and thorough interest in all aspects of the Official World Golf Ranking and provides expert guidance across all of its activities, for which we are very grateful. On behalf of everyone involved in the Official World Golf Ranking I would like to congratulate Peter on being made a CBE in recognition of his immense contribution to the game of golf worldwide".
