In the final round of THE NORTHERN TRUST 2018, Bryson DeChambeau kept his lead and carded an 18-under 266 to earn his second win of the season by four shots moving to a career best of World No.12

Staked to a four-shot lead, DeChambeau never let anyone closer than two shots, ended the threat with consecutive birdies and closed with a 2-under 69 for a four-shot victory over Tony Finau on Sunday in the FedExCup Playoffs opener.

DeChambeau won for the second time this year, both times against some of the strongest fields. He moved to the top of the FedExCup standings and was all but assured of being one of the top five seeds at the TOUR Championship who have a clear shot at the $10 million bonus.

European Tour - D+D Real Czech Masters

Andrea Pavan overcame three-time Major champion Padraig Harrington in an enthralling final-day battle to win his first European Tour title at the D+D Real Czech Masters moving from 253 to World No.140.

The duo entered round four at Albatross Golf Resort in a share for the lead but Harrington looked set for European Tour win number 16 when he opened up a three-shot lead at the turn.

Pavan had other ideas, however, coming home in 31 to sign for a 67 and beat his Irish rival by two shots.

The Italian's 22 under par total set a new record for the event, eclipsing Thomas Pieters' winning score from 2015 by two strokes.

Malaysia's Gavin Green matched Harrington with a closing 69 to finish at 17 under, two shots clear of Scotland's Scott Jamieson and Englishman Lee Slattery.

Web.com Tour - Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship

Robert Streb carded rounds of 68-71 on the weekend to finish the tournament at 12-under 272, enough to force a playoff with fellow PGA TOUR winner Peter Malnati.

The 31-year-old would go on to par the first hole in sudden death, topping Malnati’s bogey to pick up his first win in a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event since The RSM Classic in fall 2014. Streb jumps back into the Top 200 at World No.184.

Streb, who held shares of the 36- and 54-hole lead, struggled on Sunday, making par on his first two holes at the Ohio State University Golf Club’s Scarlet Course before picking up a bogey on the par-4 third. He moved back into red numbers with birdies on his next two holes, eventually making the turn at 1-under 35, remaining atop a leaderboard that at one point saw as many as six players tied for the lead.

The Oklahoma native-turned-Kansas resident would hit trouble again after making the turn, bogeying Nos. 10 and 11 to drop back down in the standings.

While Streb struggled, Malnati surged, posting a 5-under 66 in the final round to move into a share of the lead. A par from Streb on the last would send the two into a playoff, the third on Tour this season and the fourth in tournament history.

Challenge Tour – Rolex Trophy

Kim Koivu claimed his third European Challenge Tour victory of the season by six shots at the Rolex Trophy, securing himself European Tour status in the process and a career best of World No.205.

The Finn carded a final day five under par round of 67, adding to his previous rounds of 62-65-72 to claim the historic title at Golf Club de Genève and complete a remarkable eight months since he turned professional in December 2017.

Koivu, who won in China at the start of the year and Finland earlier this month, quickly moved away from overnight co-leader Marcel Schneider as he carded five birdies in his first six holes. The German could not keep up with Koivu as he dropped shots, while the 27-year-old made another gain on the ninth to move six shots ahead at the turn.

A bogey on the 11th did not rock Koivu’s rhythm as he bounced back with a birdie on 14. Even a final dropped shot on the 17th could not wipe the smile from the Finn’s face as he sealed victory and his European Tour card with a two-putt par on the last.

“It sounds awesome to be the Rolex Trophy champion. It’s what I came here to do, and I’ve done it, so I’m very, very happy,” he said.

“I don’t know if I’m going to continue playing on the Challenge Tour or play European Tour events. It’s up to my team and I to decide, so we’ll see, but I don’t know yet.

Japan Golf Tour - RIZAP KBC Augusta

Daijiro Izumida won his first Japan Golf Tour Tulte at the RIZAP KBC Augusta jumping from 994 to World No. 349.

Asian Development Tour - Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament presented by Panasonic

Miguel Carballo of Argentina secured his maiden Asian Development Tour (ADT) title in style after prevailing in an epic play-off battle that stretched over seven holes at the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament presented by Panasonic on Saturday.

The 39-year-old Carballo, playing in his first year in Asia after coming through the Qualifying School in January, overturned a six-shot deficit by carding eight birdies against no bogey for a closing eight-under-par 64 at the BSD Course by Damai Indah Golf.

Young guns Amir Nazrin of Malaysia and Poom Pattaropong of Thailand returned with respective rounds of 65 and 68 to force the sudden-death play-off with Carballo after the trio was tied on 16-under-par 272 total in regulation play at the US$110,000 ADT event.

Sunshine Tour - Sun Wild Coast Sun Challenge

Vaughn Groenewald entered the final round trailing Adilson Da Silva – whom, along with Darren Fichardt and Hennie Otto made up the four-man playoff after finishing 16-under-par 194 in regulation – by a single shot on a total of 12-under.

“The whole day I was just going with the motion, I was one-under and probably three or four shots behind,” noted Groenewald after his playoff win, talking about his thought process during the final round, “I wasn’t even thinking of the win. I was too far behind. But then I turned and I thought ‘well, let’s play for second or third.”

A final round 66 catapulted him to a share of the top spot with the players already mentioned to force the tournament into a sudden death.

And, having fallen on the wayside on four other times before, he registered his first playoff win at the Wild Coast Sun Country Club this week. Unlike a few other times when he looked to be contending from early on in the tournament, this time, he went under the radar until the last couple of holes in regulation play.

“I’ve been in a playoff, I think, four times before,” he said, “but, this is the first I have won. I’m always happy for a win.”

Vaughn earned 7 Ranking points jumping from 840 to World No. 550.

Nordic Golf League - Åhus KGK ProAm

Benjamin Henry Poke won the Åhus KGK ProAm jumping from 1152 to World No. 844.

Big Easy Tour - Big Easy Challenge 8 - Wingate Park

Dainfern rookie Cameron Moralee needs no further vindication for his decision to use the Big Easy IGT Challenge Tour to kick-start his professional career after a glorious breakthrough on the golf development circuit on Wednesday.

The champion revealed his motivation to join the pro ranks in April after he claimed a three-shot victory on nine-under-par 209 in the eighth event at Wingate Park Country Club.

“It’s all about learning how to win,” said Moralee, who boxed a 20-footer for birdie at last for a final round 70.

“Wherever you play, you’re going to have 10 or 11 guys you’re going to have to beat. You’re always trying to finish in the best position every week. I played the amateur circuit and I cut my teeth against the pros on the IGT Challenge Tour last year. Turning pro this year took me out of my comfort zone. It took my game to the next level. That’s how you do it. One level at a time.”

The former IGT Challenge Tour winner came back from a six-week lay-off two weeks ago and showed that his competitive desire was burning as bright as ever.

Moralee was composure and confidence personified as he started the final round one shot behind Sunshine Tour professional Francois Coetzee.
