Angel Cabrera from Argentina won the European Tour’s Flagship Event the BMW Championship played in dry conditions over Wentworth’s West Course. Cabrera took the title by two strokes from Paul McGinley whose second place finish saw him climb to World Number 40 and has guaranteed him exemption into the US Open next month. Another player to book a place at the US Open in a few weeks time is Colin Montgomerie, his tied 11th finish giving him just enough points to progress to World Number 50 and a guaranteed start at Pinehurst

Justin Leonard won the FedEx St. Jude Classic at the TPC at Southwind in Memphis and went up 9 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to 20th place. David Toms made a great charge on the final day to finish second alone and climb back into the World Top 10.

Chang Ik-Je of Korea won the Mitsubishi Diamond Cup on the Japan Golf Tour. The win takes him to World Number 329.

On the Asian Tour Choi Sang-Ho won the Maekyung Open and the winner of the European Challenge Tour’s Riu Tikida Beach Hotels Moroccan Classic was Fredrik Widmark.
